Sorry, this book is no longer in print -- we recommend Klaus' follow-up book " Expanding Perception," which builds on the main ideas of "Consciousness or Entropy?"

Quotes from "Consciousness or Entropy?"

"The attainment of consciousness is not predestined for those who are highly mentally gifted."
"Knowledge may often impede the development of a person's consciousness."
"A person who focuses entirely on his own benefit is likely not fulfilling the destiny that his soul has in his lifetime. He is, therefore, the loser in the final analysis."
"The purpose for the creation of the physical universe is to enhance consciousness."
"We must value the destiny of the planet as highly as the destiny of the individual."
"Consciousness is true love, it is the transcendence of egocentricity, it is the recognition and action upon the great paradox which describes that, ultimately, what is good for oneself must also be good for all."

Abstract:

The occurrence of dualisms in physics is extrapolated to the hypothesis that the entire physical reality is only one aspect of existence and there is a dualism counterpart to the physical reality.

In accordance with this hypothesis, the physical reality and its counterpart (also called Spiritual Reality), are dualism aspects (duals) of an all-encompassing entity which is called Supreme-Original Entity.

It is shown that in this extrapolation the Spiritual Reality should have domain over an additional physical dimension which is suggested to be the speed of light. The Spiritual Reality can then, for this reason alone, be categorized as intrinsically vastly superior to the physical reality. In particular, the limitations in space and time inherent to the physical reality would not exist in the Spiritual Reality.

Both realities have energy as a key element. In the physical reality, energy (physical energy) is an intangible expression that has two tangible dualism aspects, mass and waves. In the Spiritual Reality, energy is just one dualism aspect of a supreme form of energy. Its dualism counterpart is thought. "Energy" and "thought" in the Spiritual Reality correspond to mass and waves in the physical reality.

After a discussion of these analogies, a leap is made into the realm of ethics and philosophy. The implications of the above hypothesis for a person's responsibility and destiny include that man can and must carefully choose the content/direction of his thought forms. They can be positive or negative. Negative thought is rooted in egocentricity and violates and destructs. Positive thought is what is needed for the planet to survive and for the individual to become fulfilled.

Man's dualism counterpart in the Gnostic Reality is the soul. Since that reality is beyond time, the soul is, in terms of the characteristics of the physical reality, immortal and can survey the past and read the signs of the future. The combination of physical body and soul makes man an ethical entity.

It would follow that man's purpose and fulfillment is to attain, in relation to his capabilities, the highest degree of consciousness.

Relative to the Earth, the Divine Plan is suggested to be the development of a maximum level of collective consciousness, which is understood to be the synergistic sum of all individually achieved consciousness. This plan can be fulfilled in a dual cause-and-effect relationship involving both realities. First cause is Supreme-Original Energy (the Word of God) by which physical energy has been generated (created). The primary effect of this first cause has been the creation of the conditions for man emerge. Man, with the capacity of reflective thought and thus created in the image of the Supreme-Original Entity (God), is secondary cause. He is the instrument to fulfill the Plan of God by "producing" consciousness, which is the secondary effect and intended outcome.

In accordance with these hypotheses, one would have to conclude that, if man denies the existence of the spiritual reality and his purpose within the Divine Plan, he would forfeit his individual purpose and fulfillment. Furthermore, if the Earth were the only place in the universe (i.e., in the physical reality) that contains thinking beings or has the potential for this to evolve, which would clearly be a very limiting position, the preservation of the Earth is paramount for the "success" of the Divine Plan, so that this process of evolving and increasing consciousness may continue.

The evolution of man's capacity for thought has been so highly lop-sided toward the perfection of tangible objects within the physical reality that man is now capable of totally destroying this "thought process support system" (the Earth). It may well be mankind`s "karmic knot" to bring its evolution on the ethical level in line before the consequences of this imbalance irreversibly take hold.
